Life changed, now what?
We had a lot of bad stuff happen in the past 2 years. Mum got cancer and died, our good mate had a sudden heart attack and died, and then Quiggy's brother died the day after the doctor called us about his cancer. My dad suffered a massive head trauma from a simple fall and almost died. While this was all happening we had difficult surgeries, our landlord put our home on the market and needed us out, and after almost nine years on the job Quiggy was made redundant.
Life as we knew it had changed. What we thought was important in life like work, money and security was suddenly taking a back seat to spending our days how we wanted while we still had healthy bodies and brains.
So what did I do with that healthy brain when money was tight and I was the only one in permanent work? I quit my job.
Here we were, no jobs, soon to have no home, caring for my dad full-time, and fearful of our futures but.. we were free. Free from the 9 to 5 or 7 to 7 as it had become. No more moaning about work from us no! we had much better things to moan about like "what the hell have I just done!".

Being free is a wonderful feeling. You suddenly feel like you can think again. The day to day pressures of work and commuting to said work are no more. The rigidity of time starts becoming flexible. The routine and rituals lose their grip and the pains in the head and neck begin to ease. You sleep better, you get more fresh air, you smile more and your mind begins it's path back to creativity.
This is where the danger starts.
It's fantastic having all the time in the world and the big ideas on how you'll now spend that new found time, but where's all the money coming from genius?
Aha! see definition of free/adverb/1.1.
